A MAN from South Lanarkshire accused of failing to provide breath samples has been granted bail after appearing at Lerwick Sheriff Court.

Gordon Mather, 32, of Leys Park, Hamilton, had his case continued without plea until Wednesday (21 June) when he appeared from custody on Monday afternoon.

He is accused of failing to provide two specimens of breath at Lerwick Police Station on Saturday without reasonable excuse.

Police were seeking to ascertain his ability to drive and the proportion of alcohol in his breath when driving a car at the town’s Commercial Street that day.
