A LOCAL rocker who has become known for his free-flowing long hair over the last eight years is set to shave it all off in aid of charity.
Damien Calder has been a common sight on stage at local rock and metal gigs playing with acts such as Hoygir and Bulletfarm.
However, his trademark long locks are set to be lopped off in late August to raise money for Cancer Research UK, while the hair will be sent to the Little Princess Trust.
“There are members of the bands that I love that have suffered with cancer, and some have succumbed to the disease,” Damien said.
“More recently, a member of my family has fought against it and won, and I'm so grateful that he managed to do so. Unfortunately not everyone is so lucky, and hopefully whatever money I raise can go towards helping to cure this horrible disease.”
