Local covers act Boyz Aloud encouraged locals to dig deep at the Mid Brae Inn on Saturday in aid of the charity, which works with young people with cancer and their families.

Guitarist and vocalist Robert Balfour said: “There was a strong sense of community that night with everyone in attendance donating very generously to a great cause.

“There were also donations from people that weren’t there. A lass went around Scatsta Airport with a bucket and collected a lot of money prior to the gig.”
