Ferry disruption latest

| Written by Shetland News

WEDNESDAY’s NorthLink ferry sailing from Lerwick to Aberdeen will leave over five hours early as a result of anticipated strong winds.

The Hrossey will depart at midday instead of 5.30pm, with the vessel expected to make its stop in Kirkwall at 7pm before arriving in Aberdeen on schedule.

NorthLink confirmed that both of Wednesday evening’s freight sailings to and from Shetland are cancelled, while Thursday’s northbound passenger trip is currently under review.

The Hjaltland, meanwhile, is in dry dock in Rosyth until late January to undergo routine maintenance.
