A FINE day beckoned a good crowd to the Voe Show with overall numbers of visitors and exhibitors up on last year.
Unusually, the overall livestock champion was a small drake, while the runner-up in non-livestock was a hen's egg that completed the swoop of top prizes for the birds.
Show chairwoman Helena Johnson said on Saturday that while sheep and knitwear exhibits were a "peerie bit down", everything else had exceeded last year.
Johnson added "It has all gone really well and there are a lot of folk here today. It has been fun and the exhibits are all looking good." The trade and charity stands had also been a great success.
Convenor of the flowers and produce section Margaret Roberts said it had been a great show with entries up on last year.
Roberts said: "The standard has been very high. Particularly in the flowers and vegetables, that reflects the beautiful summer we have had. We have different categories for the outdoor and indoor grown produce and and increasing amount of stuff is being grown in polycrubs and tunnels."
The overall champion call drake was entered by Shane Rendall of Voe and the runner-up runner up was a Shetland Heifer in calf owned by Sheena Anderson. Winner of the non livestock section was an iced fruit cake by Lynn Christie and runner up was a white hen's egg owned by Iain Hunter of Stromfirth.
